‘Ceiling fan not damaged’

March 18, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 08:26 am IST - BENGALURU:

Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Janata Dal (S) floor leader H.D. Kumaraswamy suspected that IAS officer D.K. Ravi had not committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan at his flat in the city.

Mr Kumaraswamy, who had visited the flat in the apartment on Monday night, said on Tuesday, “The ceiling fan is not damaged. The fan looks very new and remained intact.” The fan carrying body weight should have been damaged if Ravi had committed suicide by hanging from it, he said seeking a thorough probe by the police.

Speaking on the issue in the Assembly, the JD (S) leader demanded a CBI probe into the mysterious circumstance that caused death of Ravi, who had raided offices of real-estate firms and jewellery shops, in the last few months.
