CEC team camping in Bangalore

The Supreme Court-appointed Central Empowered Committee (CEC), headed by P.V. Jayakrishnan, on Tuesday held discussions with State government officials on the cancellation of 49 mining leases under category “C”. The discussions considered the procedure for cancellation of mining leases and re-allocation of lease area through international bidding that could fetch income to the Exchequer, according to sources. The team is camping in Bangalore for the next three days.
