Despite Hungund legislator Vijayanada Kashappanavar, who was not traceable by the police for the past four days, being found at his Sanjaynagar residence in Bangalore, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths are yet to question him.

The MLA and his associate Some Gowda have been charged with assaulting two constables of the Cubbon Park police station early on Wednesday at a bar in UB City.

While the FIR has been filed at the Cubbon Park police station, the CCB has taken over the probe. The CCB sleuths investigating the case are adopting a wait-and-watch attitude, as they have not even questioned him despite knowing that he is in the city, said a police official.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kashappanavar, who spoke to the media on Sunday, said he was not dodging the police and was ready to face the probe. “I have not received calls from any police officer. I am very much in Bangalore and ready to cooperate with the investigation,” he said.
