CBI summons Kolar DC office staff

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is investigating the mysterious death of IAS officer D.K. Ravi, has summoned all members of the personal staff section in the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Kolar for questioning.

In an email communication, according to sources, the CBI has asked all the staff who were in service while Mr. Ravi was Deputy Commissioner, to its office in Bengaluru on June 8 and 10, sources said.

There are eight personal staff in the section, including two personal assistants, two drivers, one data entry operator, one attender and a gunman.

A CBI team had visited the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Kolar on Monday and inspected documents besides speaking to Deputy Commissioner K.V. Thrilokchandra and Additional DC S. R. Peddappaiah.

Mr. Ravi was posted in Kolar before being transferred to Bengaluru in October 2014.

He was found hanging at his apartment in Bengaluru on March 16, triggering protests and a political controversy.

Following a public outcry, the State government handed over the case to the CBI.
