Bullet train proposed between Bangalore, Mysore again

Updated - June 02, 2016 12:42 pm IST - BANGALORE:

The State government has proposed to link Bangalore and Mysore with a bullet train with Japanese technology to reduce the commuting time between the two cities — which are 142 km apart — to about 30 minutes.

Disclosing this at a press conference here on Monday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who recently returned from an official visit to China to attend the global summit of the World Economic Forum, said that a Japanese technical and trade delegation would visit the State shortly to discuss the proposal.

The Chief Minister said he had discussed the bullet train proposal with the Japanese Minister for Science and Technology, Education, Culture and Sports, Hakubun Shimomura.
