‘BSR-BJP merger without conditions’

President of BSR Congress B. Sriramulu said his party’s executive committee and its workers had unanimously agreed to merge with the Bharatiya Janata Party, without imposing any conditions.

“It is in the interest of the nation and to extend full support to the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi that BSR Congress had decided to merge with the BJP,” Mr. Sriramulu told presspersons here on Wednesday.

The BSR Congress’s decision would be conveyed to BJP leaders, who would fix a date for the formal merger. “It would be very soon, on an auspicious day,” he said.

Mr. Sriramulu reiterated that there was no opposition from any BJP central leader. “The State leaders, after getting the consent of the national leaders, had extended the invitation to join the party,” he said.
