The Mundigekere Bird Sanctuary at Badalkoppa village near Sonda in Sirsi taluk has played host to new guests this year.
For the first time, about 50 Black-headed Ibis have arrived, since the first week of April.
The bird sanctuary is a well-known place for roosting and breeding of cattle egrets. They arrive in thousands during the last week of May and stay here till September every year.

But this year, the Black-headed Ibis have come bringing to joy to birders, including Gopal Barkur Sirsi and Ratnakar Hegde, in the taluk.
