The Bharatiya Janata Party is trying to “mislead voters” through its manifesto, said Janata Dal (Secular) leader and the former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy.
“It has vowed to amend the existing laws to bring back the black money stashed in foreign banks. During his tenure as the Prime Minister, even Atal Bihari Vajpayee could not bring back that money. I don’t think Narendra Modi (BJP’s prime ministerial candidate) will succeed in this. Those who are managing Mr. Modi’s campaign for the polls enjoy a close nexus with those who have amassed black money,” he alleged, while talking to presspersons here on Tuesday.
Referring to the BJP’s commitment to build a temple in Ayodhya within the framework of the Constitution, Mr. Kumaraswamy said that it was because of the insistence of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh that the issue had been incorporated into the manifesto.

“It is clear that the BJP and the RSS are trying to disturb peace and harmony for political gains,” he claimed.
He also flayed the manifesto released by the Congress. Their promise to create 10 crore jobs is difficult to fulfil, he felt.
It is known that the generation of jobs during the UPA regime has not been on the expected lines, owing to mismanagement of the economy, he said.

Mr. Kumaraswamy said that the JD(S) would release its manifesto soon.
He expressed confidence that the JD(S) candidate from Shimoga constituency, Geetha Shivarajkumar, would win the elections.
