Schools and colleges to remain closed on Monday

Bhadravati town, that witnessed group clash on Saturday over the screening Kamal Hassan’s new movie ‘Vishwaroopam’, remained peaceful on Sunday.

The Hindu that the situation was under control. Prohibitory orders under Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code will be in force till Monday evening.

He said that schools and colleges will remain closed in Bhadravati on Monday.

Superintendent of Police Koushalendra Kumar has said that 45 persons been arrested so far. Police personnel have been deployed in large numbers in sensitive areas like Gandhi Nagar, Hosamane, Anwar Colony, Sante Maidan areas to prevent untoward incidents.

In wake of the prohibitory orders, the weekly shanty in Bhadravathi that will be held every Sunday was cancelled. The city wore a deserted look as shops and commercial establishments remained closed.

No bus service

The city buses and auto rickshaws remained off the road. The service of private buses as well as Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation buses to the city were cancelled till Sunday evening due to which passengers had to face hardship.
