Assembly congratulates Vivek Hallegere Murthy

The Legislative Assembly on Wednesday adopted a resolution congratulating Vivek Hallegere Murthy who has made history by becoming the first Indian-origin person to be appointed Surgeon General of the United States of America.

Dr. Murthy (37), whose parents are from Mandya district, is the youngest person to be appointed to the post.
