Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep on Monday conducted a meeting with officials and the city police atop Chamundi Hills in view of the forthcoming Ashada season and Vardhantotsava of Goddess Chamundeshwari in June and July.
Lakhs of devotees throng the hilltop to worship the Goddess on all Fridays of the Ashada season. The first Friday of the season will be on June 30 while the second and third Fridays will be on July 7 and July 14 respectively. The last Friday will be on July 21 and the Vardhantotsava will be held on July 16.
Mr. Randeep chaired the meeting at Dasaho Bhavan to discuss the arrangements to be made for devotees ahead of the season. Deputy Commissioners of Police H.T. Shekar and Rudramuni, Muzrai officials, and temple authorities attended the meeting.

Like every year, this year too private vehicles will not be allowed atop the hills on Fridays and devotees have to park their vehicles at the Lalitha Mahal helipad from where KSRTC buses will ferry them to the hills. This measure had been taken to avoid vehicle congestion and parking problem atop the hills. The DC said the number of buses pressed into service should be in tune with the number of devotees visiting the hills on those days.
Drinking water arrangements, water proof pandal, temporary toilets, barricading, and illumination should be made at the helipad for the convenient of devotees.
Mr. Randeep asked the police to deploy adequate security and install CCTV cameras on the temple premises. Devikere, the area near Mahishasura, and the road leading to the temple should be illuminated, he added.

One ambulance each will be stationed atop the hills, near Nandi statue, and near the helipad besides fire and emergency personnel.
The DC asked the CESC authorities to repair street lights near Devikere and also along the steps leading to the hilltop from the foothills. He also asked the authorities to ensure cleanliness and directed for the appointment of nodal officers for overall supervision.
