CONFERENCE FOR WOMEN IN TECH
The fourth annual Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing will be held in Bangalore from November 13 to 15. The event’s organiser, the Anita Borg Institute, has called for participation in session tracks and poster abstracts.
The last date for submission is September 23, while the brief states that submissions can “explore various boundaries encountered in technology”. The conference will feature keynote speakers, panels, workshops, technical posters, a woman-led Hackathon and a Women Entrepreneur Quest.

MICROSOFT’S OFFERING FOR NON-PROFITS
Microsoft India announced that its ‘Office 365 for Nonprofits’ is available to non-governmental organisations (NGOs) through its software donation program. The donation is available in 41 countries including India, and will be in up to 90 countries by July 2014, a release from the software major stated. The cloud service allows these organisations to set up the infrastructure to access information virtually from anywhere and collaborate easily, the release added. GOOGLE+ PHOTO CONTEST
The Tourism Ministry and Google+ are hosting a photography competition. The Ministry has invited professionals and amateur photographers from around the world to share their view of India with a six-weeklong global photography competition on Google+.
A release from Google stated that the best pictures shared from around the world on Google+, with the hashtag #IncredibleIndia, will be nominated and shared on a special landing page on google.com. In a release, Sandeep Menon, marketing director of Google India, said, “We’re very excited that the platform will bring together and unite India lovers globally, allowing them share, showcase and view incredible photographic moments in this incredible contest that celebrates India.”
