Another leopard trapped in H.D. Kote taluk

A leopard aged around one-and-a-half years was trapped at the Hirenandi village in Hampapura hobli of H.D. Kote taluk in Mysore district, according to information received here on Thursday.

A leopardess was caught in the same area at a sugarcane field on Tuesday evening which was let off into the Bandipur tiger reserve in Wednesday.

Deputy Conservator of Forests, Mysore, D.S. Gaonkar, said the animal was trapped from another sugarcane field.

It was released into the Moolehole range of Bandipur National Park in the morning.

Two cages

The department had placed two cages in the vicinity of the village. One of them is still kept there as village residents say that one more leopardis on the prowl.
