Ambedkar statue to be unveiled

H.C. Mahadevappa, Minister for Public Works, will unveil the statue of B.R. Ambedkar at Rekulagi village in Bidar district today.

State convener of the Karnataka Dalit Sangharsh Samiti D.G. Sagar, addressing presspersons here on Saturday, said that the local villagers contributed for the eight feet statue of Dr. Ambedkar.

Mr. Mahadevappa will lay the foundation stone for a library at Buddha Vihara on the outskirts of Rekulagi village.

Mr. Sagar thanked the State government for recognising the yeomen services of Nidumamidi Seer Sri Veerabhadra Channamalla Swami and conferring him with the Rashtriya Basava Puraskara.
