Ambareesh’s efforts go in vain, Yeddyurappa does not budge

Minister for Housing M.H. Ambareesh on Wednesday attempted to convince the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa to end his three-day-old dharna in the Legislative Assembly , but it was in vain.

During Question Hour, Mr. Ambareesh said he would feel guilty to answer the query when a veteran politician was standing in the well of the House staging a dharna.

Pleading

He walked into the well of the House and pleaded with Mr. Yeddyurappa to return to his seat. When Mr. Yeddyurappa remained unmoved, he offered to touch his feet.

Later, he forcefully brought Mr. Yeddyurappa and his party MLAs to their chairs.

Thinking that he had succeeded in persuading Mr. Yeddyurappa to end the protest, the members cutting across party affiliations hailed Mr. Ambareesh.

But Mr. Yeddyurappa and his party MLAs trooped back to the well of the House as soon as Mr. Ambareesh returned to his chair.

Later, when Mr. Ambareesh replied in a dramatic manner to a question, Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa reminded him that he was in the Assembly and not the theatre. Mr. Ambareesh replied: “I know sir. This is better than film.”
