The Lions Club of Belagavi Midtown will organise All India Open Fide Rating Chess Tournament in a hall at the new district court premises in the city for five days from May 1.
The tournament is open for all categories and will be held as per the Fide Rules.
The first prize will get Rs. 35,000 and a trophy, while the second prize winner will get Rs. 25,000 cash and a trophy. The third and fourth prize winners will be given Rs. 15,000 and Rs.12,000 along with trophies, respectively.

That apart, prizes will also be given to Best Unrated, Best Women, Best Veteran, Best Belagavi Player, according to Club President Bhaskar Patil.
