Minister for Housing V. Somanna has said that the handing over of Aasare houses to those affected by the floods of 2009 across the State will be completed by October-end.

He was speaking at a function to hand over Aasare houses to beneficiaries at Valabellary village of Sindhanur taluk on Wednesday.

Mr. Somanna said the government had completed 56,377 of 58,000 houses taken up for construction under the project. However, some beneficiaries were refusing to move into the houses owing to lack of basic facilities.
