Actors Darshan, Devaraj injured in car mishap

Kannada film actors Darshan and Devaraj were injured in a car mishap on the outskirts of Mysuru on Monday early morning.

When Darshan and Devaraj along with co-actors Prajwal and Antony Roy were returning home after late night dinner, the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the road divider near Urban Haat on the Ring Road in Hebbal. The injured were immediately rushed to Columbia Asia Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.

A surgery was performed on Darshan’s forearm to correct the dislocation, according to sources in the hospital. While Devaraj’s fingers were bruise, Prajwal and Antony Roy had suffered minor injuries.

Tourism Minister S.R. Mahesh, who visited the hospital, told reporters that all the actors are doing well and there is “no need for any anxiety”. Police had stepped up security outside the hospital to keep off anxious fans.

Meanwhile, Mr Darshan’s wife Vijayalakshmi and his mother Meena Thogudeepa visited the hospital to check on the actor’s condition.
