Action sought against CI

Pourakarmikas working in the Gulbarga City Corporation on Tuesday demanded a disciplinary action against the Circle Inspector of the Brahmpur Police Station who had allegedly misbehaved, used abusive language and ordered lathicharge on the pourakarmikas who were protesting with the body of one of their colleagues who died due to “starvation”, after being denied salary for the past 48 months.

The pourakarmikas took out a procession sporting black bands, under the leadership of the former Labour Minister S.K. Kanta, KPRS President Maruti Manpade, President of the Karnataka Red Gram Growers Association Basavaraj Ingin and leaders of other organisations, and staged a protest outside Police Bhavan.
