Nearly 5,000 people visited the stalls on Tuesday, which was a holiday on account of Ugadi. There are over 150 stalls showcasing products such as wood carvings, inlay work, hand embroidery, earthenware pots, Orissa appliqué work, Madhubani paintings and Rajasthani miniature paintings as well as Channapatana toys and Kasauti saris. There is a move now to make urban haat one of the stops on a package tour of the city. Also in the offing is a restaurant that will dish out culinary delights of Mysore and surrounding regions. Likely to be ready by April, the speciality of the restaurant will be a dosa camp.

The Cauvery Crafts Bazaar will be on till March 31.
