Running for lakes

Leg work:Residents of Sarjapur gathered for a run on Sunday to save their lakes. A 10K run was held for professional athletes and a 3K run for families, in which nearly 250 families participated. Sarjapur has 26 lakes in a 7-km radius and many of them are dying, said Jagadeesh Kotturshettar, president of Sarjapura Residents' Welfare Association. The goal of the event was to raise awareness about these lakes and urge residents to ensure they are not encroached upon.— Photo: Special Arrangement
