Hyderabad Karnataka and parts of Bombay Karnataka continued to be under a severe heat wave spell with Kalaburagi recording the State’s highest maximum temperature of 42.4 degrees Celsius as per the observations recorded by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) at 8.30 a.m. on Sunday.
Maximum temperature
The maximum temperature recorded by Kalaburagi was 1 degrees Celsius more than the temperature recorded on the same day the previous year. Bidar recorded a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius and this was 3 degrees Celsius more than the maximum temperature recorded on the same day previous year.

There was no respite from heat wave conditions in other parts of the Hyderabad-Karnataka region with Raichur and Koppal recording a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius and 39 degrees Celsius respectively and Vijayapura in the Bombay-Karnataka region recording a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius.
However, other parts of Bombay Karnataka were relatively free from the heat wave spell due to the good rain in Belagavi and Dharwad districts.

While Belagavi city recorded the State’s highest rainfall of 5 cm, Chikkodi in Belagavi district and Annigeri in Dharwad district recorded a rainfall of 4 cm each.
Hidkal in Belagavi district recorded 2 cm of rainfall and Raibagh in Belagavi, Kundagol in Dharwad district and Bableshwar and Tikkota in Vijayapura recorded 1 cm of rainfall each.
The night temperature too continued to be high in the Hyderabad- Karnataka region with Kalaburagi, Bidar and Raichur recording an identical minimum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius, followed by 26 degrees Celsius in Koppal.
The sources in the IMD said that rain or thundershowers would occur at isolated places in Hyderabad Karantaka and Bombay Karnataka in the next 24 hours.
