Khushboo Goel Chowdhary took charge as Deputy Commissioner of Yadgir on Friday.
She took over from Vikas Suralkar, the CEO of the zilla panchayat who was the in-charge DC after the previous DC, Manoj Jain, was transferred as managing director of the Food and Civil Supplies Department.
An officer of the 2008 IAS batch, Ms. Chowdhary, who hails from Chandigarh, used to be MD of the Hubli Electricity Supply Company. She has worked as Assistant Commissioner in Bidar, and as MD of both North-Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation and Gescom.

Briefing reporters after taking charge, she said she would soon call a review meeting to ascertain the problems in the district. She added that she would give priority to the effective implementation of Union and State government schemes.
Mr. Suralkar and other officers greeted her.
