The police investigation into the blast at the toilet block in Mysuru court complex last week will focus on leads available from similar blasts that had taken place in Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh and Kollam in Kerala.
A team of police personnel from Mysuru has already been dispatched to Chittoor and Kollam to study similar blasts that had taken place in the courts there earlier this year. The police teams are expected to gather details related to the progress of investigation so far in both cases.
Speaking to reporters in Mysuru after participating in a passing out parade of women constables from the Police Training School here on Monday, Home Minister G. Parameshwara denied that the probe into the blast had been handed over a central investigation agency. However, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) have already collected samples from the site of the blast.

Dr. Parameshwara said the Forensic Sciences Laboratory (FSL) in Bengaluru, which had been upgraded, was also studying the samples.
Stating that no organisation had so far claimed responsibility of the blasts, he refused to speculate on persons or groups behind the act.

Asked about the impact of the blast on Dasara, the Home Minister said all steps will be taken to heighten security for the 10-day festival that attracts a large number of tourists.
He said the City Police will ensure that effective security arrangements are in place. “There will be no need for anxiety,” he added.
