A leopard that strayed into the bathroom of a house in Guddahalli near Magadi, was tranquilized and captured on Tuesday.
Around 3 a.m., the five-year-old leopard was spotted in the outhouse of a farm. Residents were woken up by the howling of dogs in the area, and found the spotted feline in the outhouse. They then blocked the exits of the bathroom, and called the Forest Department officials. “Veterinary doctors were called, and a cage had to be arranged. By 7 a.m., the leopard was tranquilized and later released into the wild,” said A.L. Dalesh, Range Forest Officer (Magadi). As crowds swelled, the police were called to cordon off the area. The leopard may have come from Savandurga forests.
