Clarifying that the now disputed land in Anekal taluk was bought by his mother Tarabhai Marutirao Jadhav in 2002, well after the expiry period of 15 years of non-alienation clause, Chief Secretary Arvind Jadhav on Wednesday said he was not even posted in the State during that time.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has sought a report from the Revenue Secretary in the case and said that a call on initiating action would be taken thereafter.
In his clarification, Mr. Jadhav said, “The podi (document showing division of land) of the said land has not yet been made and that is why the controversy has cropped up,” he said.

“Subsequent to the purchase, which she bought out of proceeds of sale of agricultural land on survey numbers 77, 78, 80, and 81 of Hegganahalli in Devanahalli taluk, applications were made a number of times for completing and fixing of survey boundaries,” he said.
“Over the last 14 years, neither the grant of lands in Sy. No. 29 of Ramanayakanahalli and the purchase through registered sale deed have been questioned by competent authorities. There was no illegality or irregularity in purchase of the land by her,” he reiterated.
Meanwhile, Anti-Corruption Bureau officials visited the Kandaya Bhavan and recovered all land documents pertaining to the case on Wednesday. Allegations were made on Tuesday night that the documents were being “tampered with”.
