An agricultural labourer, Rama (40), who had suffered grave injuries after falling from an areca tree in Horanadu village of Mudigere taluk on December 25, died on Tuesday.
His wife, in her complaint to the Kalasa police, said Rama was working in a plantation belonging to Vishwanatha Rao of Kalasa. After falling from the tree, he was taken to a hospital in Mangaluru, where he died.
The Kalasa police have registered a case of unnatural death.
