It was hard for the staff of Paduà PU college to console Ebanella, the 2nd year PU student, whose plans to reach her native Meghalaya and write All India Institute of Medical Sciences entrance exam is spoiled because of the Chemistry exam question paper leak.
Ms. Ebanella had to cancel her train tickets following the re-examination order for leak of the Chemistry paper the students had written on March 21. She had booked for five day long journey from Bengaluru on April 1 and was to write the AIMS examination on April 9.
"The authorities are playing with our future. I fear prospects of losing the chance to write the AIIMS entrance exam because of this leak," she said and broke down.
Students were disappointed over the leak of the question paper for the second time. "We hold the Pre University Department responsible. They have failed to take measures to prevent leakage of question papers in the way Central Board of Secondary Education has done," said Deon Fleming from the Padua College.
For all the goof up that has been done by Pre University officials, the State Government should direct PU Board to evaluate the Chemistry paper that students have already written, Mr. Fleming said.
Another student, Joshua Rodrigues, said with the leakage of the question paper they have lost the zeal to prepare for re-examination. This incident has affected their plans to prepare for the Joint Entrance Examination(mains) that is scheduled on April 3. It has also affected their preparation for the Common Entrance Test scheduled in May, said Sushant.
