Veteran theatre performer and musician Manobai Nakod has been selected to receive the S.B. Jangamshetty Memorial Theatre Award for the year 2016.
Senior theatre artiste and president of the selection committee L.B.K. Aladal, while addressing presspersons in Kalaburagi on Friday, said that the committee has selected the 80-year-old veteran from Davangere for the award on July 18 in Kalaburagi city for her contribution to the field of theatre.
Mr. Aladal said that the S.B. Jangamshetty Memorial Award that was conferred on artists of the Hyderabad-Karnataka region has been extended to the rest of the State from this year. The committee has received 76 applications from the State.
