A few of these students had no formal schooling at all, he added.

This is neither a Kannada medium school nor an English medium school in a conventional sense. This is a bilingual school and children from difficult backgrounds stay in the school as resident scholars.

Admission is given round-the-year. The children are aged between six and 14.

The goal is to transform the lives of underprivileged children of the rural community. Children who fail to reach the desired educational standards due to illiteracy, ignorance and poverty of parents, children with turbulent childhoods, children battered by family with uncivilised background, first generation school-goers and school dropouts are prioritisd for admission at the school.

Most of the day scholars belong to nearby villages like Kenchalagudu, Salhundi, Dhanagahalli, Gujjegowdanapura, Arasinakere, Shivapura, Mahadevapura, Srirampura etc.
