Eligible voters whose names are not on the electoral rolls, including those who have recently crossed 18 years, can register their names as part of the continuous updating of the voters’ list by submitting the stipulated Form 6 at the tahsildar’s office in taluks falling under the respective Assembly constituencies, or the Mysore City Corporation (MCC) offices in constituencies falling under Mysuru City.

Meanwhile, the district administration and Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation organised an oath-taking ceremony, and distribution of voters’ identity cards in the city on Sunday along with a rally on voting awareness.

About 100 newly-enrolled voters and students participated in a rally flagged off by Deputy Commissioner C. Shikha at Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple.

Two tableaux with posters on voting awareness were part of the rally that passed through K.R. Circle before reaching the Deputy Commissioner’s office through D. Devaraj Urs Road.

Ms. Shikha said voting was not just a right, but a duty. She told the youth that instead of criticising the system, they should help improve it by enrolling themselves in the electoral list and casting their votes during the polling process.
