300 new buses to NEKRTC: Transport Minister

Minister for Transport Mr. R. Ramalinga Reddy announced that his Department had decided to add 300 more buses to North Eastern Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NEKRTC).

He was addressing a public meeting here on Monday after inaugurating a new bus-stop built at the cost of Rs. 6.37 crore.

“200 buses have already been provided to NEKRTC. 300 more buses will be added shortly. Our priorities had always been offering best services to commuters at affordable costs,” he said. KSRTC had received three awards from the Union Government for offering best services, he added. The minister directed the staff to maintain cleanliness and commuter-friendly atmosphere in the newly opened bus stand.

Minister For Urban Development Vinay Kumar Sorake inaugurated a vegetable market complex built at the cost of Rs. 4.22 crore at Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) premises. He also laid the foundation stone of a project for providing drinking water to the city round the clock and other developmental projects.

Minister for Revenue V. Srinivasa Prasad inaugurated mini Vidhana Soudha office complex built at the cost of Rs. 2.50 crore.

Sindhanur MLA Hampanagowda Badarli, Maski MLA Pratapgowda Patil, Manvi MLA Hampaiah Naik, NEKRTC chairman Bheemanna Sali, Sinndhanur City Municipal Council president Jafer Jahagirdar, Zilla Panchayat president Sarojamma Basavaraj, Tungabhadra Command Area Development Authority chairman A. Vasanth Kumar and others were present.
