12 centres set up for common entrance test in Shivamogga district

As many as 5,184 students are appearing for the Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to professional courses in the district. Twelve centres have been set up in the district for the examination, which is being held on May 12 and 13 across the State. Of the twelve centres, eight are in Shivamogga and two each in Bhadravati and Sagar, respectively .

The question papers will be deposited in the District Treasury and then forwarded to the respective examination centres, under strict vigilance of a three-member committee, comprising district-level officials. The Directorate of Pre-University Education and the Karnataka Examination Authority have formed sitting squads of two officials each for every examination centre.

Observer

Deputy Commissioner has deputed one observer each for all centres to ensure transparent and fair conduct of the examination. In addition, a custodian has been appointed for question and answer papers. Principals of institutions that have been made examination centres will function as joint chiefs of examination process.

All photo copying kiosks in about 300 m radius of the centre have been barred from functioning on the examination days. Two police personnel will be deployed to each centre for security purposes.

Names of the examination centres are: DVS Independent PU College, Sacred Heart PU College, Kasturba Girls’ PU College, Government PU College, Government Girls’ PU College, DVS Composite College, Sarvodaya Girls’ PU College and National PU College in Shivamogga. Government PU College and Government Girls’ PU College in Sagar and Government Girls’ PU College (New Town) and Government PU College (T.K. Road) in Bhadravati.
