10 die in Davangere road accident

As many as 10 persons of a marriage party died and over 50 were injured when a goods vehicle by which they were travelling overturned between Karadikallu and Suggahalli villages, near Nyamathi in Honnali taluk, about 80 km from here, on Monday.

Over 20 injured have been admitted to the Chigateri hospital here, while the others were taken to Shimoga. Of the 28 people admitted here, the condition of five is stated to be critical. All the deceased and the injured were from Banuvalli village in Harihar taluk.

Six of the dead were identified as Hanumanthappa (70), Murali (8), Maheshwarappa (55), Santosh Kumar (22), Veerabhadrappa (59) and Poojar Nagappa (55).
