Minister for Horticulture and district in-charge Shamanur Shivashankarappa has expressed happiness over the inclusion of Davangere in the Smart City project. He told presspersons here on Sunday that the move would play a crucial role in ensuring overall development of the district.
Mr. Shivashankarappa said that Davangere had been included in the list following sustained efforts by the State government.
The Davangere City Municipal Corporation had secured 95 per cent marks out of 100 in financial management, collection of revenue and implementing development works. Davangere Mayor H.B. Goneppa, Davangere Urban Development Authority chairman Ayub Pailwan, Deputy Commissioner S.T. Anjnakumar and Superintendent of Police Borlingaiah were present.
