October 01, 2012 08:10 am | Updated October 18, 2016 02:10 pm IST - BANGALORE:

Mr. Patil criticised the Tamil Nadu government’s "immature" and "premature" demand for water for the sake of "playing politics"

The former Minister H.K. Patil on Sunday advised Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar to go for “cloud-seeding and cloud modifications” to provide succour to the farmers in the Cauvery basin, who are aggrieved over the release of water to Tamil Nadu by the State government.

Mr. Patil told presspersons that the government’s “mishandling” of the Cauvery issue had landed the State in a bind.

He urged the BJP government should explore “scientific” approaches to tide over the crisis.
