Ahead of the proposed protest by police personnel, the police department has taken all precautions to keep the law and order situation under control.
Vinayaka Patil, Superintendent of Police, told The Hindu here on Thursday that all arrangements have been made to face the protest. “I tried to convince them by visiting each police station and assured them that State government would solve the problems.”
Mr. Patil said many had been convinced and rest would follow them.

Even if they go for agitation or absented themselves from duty by violating rules, strict legal action will be taken against them, he warned.
Mr Patil also denied the reports that he sought signatures from police on the blank white paper and threatened them to go back from the agitation if they do not wish to face consequences.
Two platoons from Karnataka Reserve Police forces and 200 home guards would be deployed for the duty.
