Speaking to The Hindu, BJP's foreign affairs cell convenor Vijay Chauthaiwale said Mr. Nadda had extended the invitation to Mr. Deuba to visit the party headquarters, and that "Mr. Deuba has gracefully accepted the invitation."
"It is at the invitation of Mr. Nadda that Mr. Deuba will visit the party headquarters, and Nadda ji will be welcoming him there," Mr. Chauthaiwale stated. The impetus for the visit had come from Mr. Nadda, sources said.
Meeting with Modi
Mr. Deuba's India visit will include meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a visit to Varanasi. Interestingly, Nepali Congress leader Prakash Sharan Mahath, considered an informal emissary of Mr. Deuba, travelled to India in October and reached out to the BJP then. He had also travelled to Lucknow where he met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
This is Mr. Deuba's first bilateral visit since taking over as Prime Minister in July 2021.
