The Samaikyandhra stir intensified here on Friday as the integrationists directed their ire at Finance Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and Nellore Rural MLA Anam Vivekananda Reddy for their alleged efforts to undermine united State agitation for political gains.

Finance Minister’s younger brother Anam Jayakumar Reddy, who broke away from the family a few years ago, joined the Samaikya leaders and led the protest programmes here.

The agitators, who included the activists of Samaikya employees, teachers and students JAC, removed the flexes and banners of the Finance Minister and AICC leaders.

They tore the banners and burnt them to express their anger against the approval of the Telangana note by the Union Cabinet.

Addressing the agitators at the VRC Centre, Mr. Anam Jayakumar Reddy deplored that his brothers were breaking away from their family tradition of standing for the unity and integrity of Andhra Pradesh. He pointed out that their family supported the unity of the State even at the peak of Jai Andhra agitation in Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions in 1972.
