The Delhi Police on Wednesday recorded the statement of the 27-year-old woman who has filed a case of sexual harassment against TERI chief R.K. Pachauri.

In her statement, she recounted the alleged harassment she faced in the two years she worked at the organisation.

“We have recorded her statement over two days, for three hours on Monday and for over five hours on Tuesday,” said a police officer. “She told us everything that she had written in her letter to the internal sexual harassment committee of TERI.”

According to sources, she told the police that the prospect of having to face Mr. Pachauri scared her so much that she had been reluctant to enter her office. “She has been under immense trauma for the last two-three months,” her lawyer said. “What makes matters worse is the fact that the man she dreads facing has refused to step down as the TERI chief. This means she will have to face him.”

The complainant, who is still an employee of TERI, is now on two months leave. She will submit her mobile and laptop to the investigators on Thursday. In her complaint to the police, she said Mr. Pachauri used to send her SMS and e-mails at odd hours.
