Family, friends don’t buy police version

Model-actor Shikha Joshi, who allegedly killed herself by slashing her throat on May 16, had threatened cosmetic surgeon Vijay Sharma that she would commit suicide if he did not pay for her replaced breast implants, Mumbai Police sources said on Thursday.

Dr. Sharma purportedly disclosed this to the police on Wednesday. In her dying moments, the actor blamed the Andheri-based surgeon for pushing her to take the extreme step. “He told us that Shikha and her brother Vishesh had been demanding that he, and not them, foot the bills of a breast enhancement surgery performed on her in 2011. When he refused, they pelted stones at his house and accused him in a molestation case,” said a police source.
