An exhibition of photographs by 35 photographers from different parts of the State, currently under way at Kerala Lalithakala Akademi Art Gallery here, is one which reflects the diverse interests and tastes of the participants.
From wildlife and environment to portrait and abstract, the show, Rangoli-2014, has all varieties of photographs on display.
Besides looking for exotic and artistic things, the photographers have also tried to make their snaps representative of their respective geographical locations.

The picture of a domesticated elephant during a rainy night in the backdrop of a festive setting by Thrissur-based photographer Subin Pullazhi and a grazing herd of wild elephants in a beautiful grassland in Idukki by Adimaly-based photographer T.S. Sunil Kumar are examples of these regional representation. Some of the stunning wildlife pictures, including that of a colourful duck floating in deep blue waters of a river in Gujarat by C.A. Sreevindh and the arresting frame of a lion at Gir forest, were taken by the photographers during different trips organised by the nature club under the All Kerala Photographers Association for its members, said C.M. Sakkier, one of the organisers.
Besides snaps depicting the quaint beauty of village life and the artistic quality of cultural festivals, the show also have pictures that portray the man-animal conflicts such as the one by Rajan Kutoor in which a frenzied bull runs over a man, who must have been chasing it during a traditional Kalapoottu race.
The exhibition, organised by the All Kerala Photographers Association, will conclude on Tuesday.
