The Additional District and Sessions Court, Kozhikode, has acquitted 11 activists of the Democratic Youth Federation of India and the Students Federation of India, who were charged with attempt to murder and destruction of public property during a strike against the alleged illegal admission of a student of the Government Engineering College, Kozhikode, in 2011.
The activists were arrested after they staged protests against the admission of the student Nirmal Madhav and they were fired at by the then Deputy Superintendent of Police, Radhakrishna Pillai.
