St. Xavier's student union leaders to take a ‘blood oath’

The St. Xavier’s College student union will be inaugurated with all office-bearers donating their blood

It is a ‘blood oath’ the new office-bearers of St. Xavier’s College students union are going to take on Monday.

Proclaiming the slogans ‘Blood donation is life donation’ and ‘Human integration through blood donation,’ the new college union will be inaugurated with all office-bearers donating their blood on the occasion of National Blood Donation Day. Emphasising harmony, three religious heads will monitor the swearing-in ceremony. Kozhikode Bishop Varghese Chakkalakkal; Chief Acharya of Sambodh Foundation Kerala Unit Swami Adhyathmananda and Chief Khasi of Kozhikode K.V. Imbichammad will administer the oath.

Medical practitioner and writer P.A. Lalitha of Malabar Hospital will deliver a message. ‘Blood Donation-What to know and beyond,’ a book by Mary Joseph of Amala Clinic, Kattangal, will be released on the occasion. Around 50 students of the college will donate blood in the camp to be organised under the leadership of M. Salva Ali of District General Hospital, Kozhikode Beach, a press release said.
