Security guards seek better safety

: The Kozhikode District Security and Labour Contract Workers Union will take out a march to the Collectorate on March 11 to press its demand for police action in cases related to attacks on private security guards.

Employees attached to 60 security agencies will take part. According to the union, there are around 3 lakh people working in the private security service sector. But no legal steps are followed to ensure their safety. Of the 600 private agencies, majority do not even have registration, the union said.
