The second phase of Jana Sabha, a public interaction programme launched by Minister for Panchayats and Social Justice M.K. Muneer, started here on Saturday.
Beneficiaries from the Kozhikode South Assembly constituency were given a total financial aid of Rs.62 lakh on the day. People from the Kallayi and Payyanakkal areas got the opportunity to attend the second phase.
New development projects worth Rs.95 lakh were announced for the constituency on the day.

P. Ushadevi, chairperson of the Corporation’s standing committee on education, chaired the inaugural function.
A special medical camp for those above 65 years of age was held at Government Vocational Higher Secondary School, Payyanakkal, under the aegis of the Kerala State Social Security Mission.
A series of seminars on various topics were also organised. Senior officers of the police and Excise Departments handled sessions.

Kuttichira, Kinassery, Puthiyara, and Kovoor will be covered on Tuesday and Thursday. Programme coordinators said the aim of the programme was to receive complaints from the public on various developmental issues and address those instantly. Reaching aid to eligible beneficiaries of various government schemes too was a mission of Jana Sabha, they said.
