The Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samiti (KVVES) members, on Saturday, took out a protest march to the monorail project office on the Civil Station premises demanding a revision of the existing plan.

The protestors said the approved plan, if implemented, would affect the livelihood of over 2,000 merchants in the project area. It would also disfigure the traditional look of many important locations, they claimed.

KVVES State president T. Nazirudheen and district general secretary Ashraf Moothedathu said the multi-crore project would benefit only a small section of people. If a revision was not considered, the KVVES would launch an indefinite strike by closing all shops in the city, they said.
