Ragam-2014 comes to a close

The annual cultural festival of the National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC)—Ragam-2014, came to a close with a live performance by the playback singer Benny Dayal and team on the NITC campus at Chathamangalam in Kozhikode on Sunday.

The final day of the three-day event witnessed spirited competitions in a variety of events including debate and Jam where the participants pitted their wits against each other to the entertainment of a big gathering.

Quizzing enthusiasts from across South India were brought together in the Ragam quizzing fete. It was hosted by renowned quizzer Arul Mani. The large crowd was moved when a 14-member team performed a ‘Street Play’, showcasing various social issues. Ragam also witnessed various Sherlocks, Watsons and Lestrades as they went about snooping around the campus for clues to catch the culprit during the event christened as Criminal Minds.

The Fine Arts events such as vegetable carving, pencil sketching and painting brought together some of the brilliant artists with creative skills.

The musical events Western Solo, Light Music Solo, Mappila Paattu and Antakshari showcased different forms of music.
