All arrangements are in place for The Hindu MetroPlus Pookkalam contest to be held at Gujarathi Hall on Beach Road here on Saturday.
Entries are still flooding The Hindu office in Kozhikode.
The contest is easily the one with the highest price money in the region. The teams adjudged first, second, and third will get Rs.20,000, Rs.12,500, and Rs.7,500 respectively. All teams will get Rs.750 as reimbursement for the cost of flowers after the prize distribution. Ten teams will get consolation prizes of Rs.1,500 each.

There are attractive prizes for the best traditionally dressed male and female participants.
The teams interested in taking part shall report at the venue by 8.30 a.m. on Saturday.
The teams shall consist of five members of which three should be females. The ‘pookkalam’ should not exceed a diameter of 5 feet. It should have a minimum area of 19 sq ft and a maximum of 25 sq ft.
