The Special Additional District and Sessions Court (Marad Cases), trying the T.P. Chandrasekharan murder case, on Thursday examined the doctors who carried out the medical examination of the assailants and the 18th accused P.V. Rafeeque aka Vazhappapadachi.
The doctors — Cyriac Job, former associate professor and deputy police surgeon, Government Medical College, Kozhikode, and Shelina Padman and K. Chinmoy, of Vadakara Government Hospital — deposed before R. Narayana Pishradi, special judge.
The case related to a gang, allegedly hired by a section of leaders of the CPI(M), hacking to death RMP leader T.P. Chandrasekharan at Onchiyam on May 4, 2012.

However, another prosecution witness, K. Vasanta, mother of the sixth accused Shijith aka Annan, turned hostile while deposing before the court. She denied that her son had used the cell phone SIM taken in her name.
The court rejected the affidavit of the defence counsel to provide a cot for the 13th accused P.K. Kunhanandan, CPI(M) Panur area committee member, who was now lodged at the district jail. However, he could approach the jail superintendent for securing the facility, it said.
In his deposition, Dr. Job said he had examined Shijith who had accidently cut his hand during the attack on Chandrasekharan. This was after the Crime Branch arrested him on June 5. The wound on his left hand showed that it had been cut with a sharp weapon, he said.

K. Savithri, junior consultant , District Government Hospital, Vadakara, testified that she had examined the blood samples and hair of the accused N.K. Sunil Kumar aka Kodi Suni; Kirmani Manoj; and K.K. Mohammed Shafi.
